I've been wanting to make some bookmarks for, like ever, but hadn't felt any real inspiration until I found these cuties on mmmcrafts.

Larissa does a fabulous job of taking you through step-by-step and I was following along okay, until it came to that stupid exacto-knife. I cannot cut with an exacto-knife. I don't know why, I just can't.
So here are some of my first attempts:
I like the idea of her sloppy heart better, but sometimes you just have to work with the skills (or lack) you've got, so I got out a couple of paper punches and that worked better for me.
A little word of caution -- notice how the butterfly bookmark (second from the right) is shorter than the rest? Let me just say, if you aren't going to use cardstock (and instead are going to try to use up the resume paper that you bought but never really used), then don't give a big old yank on that ribbon when you tie it. Yep, it tore right through and I had to cut the size down a bit and punch a new hole.

Super cute. I quadruple the sentiment of the last one being my favorite, though. The pea people are the cutest thing I've ever seen. lol I love them!!!!
