This week we've been talking about different ways to be good to ourselves. One of my favourite treats is a warm bath (glass of wine in hand of course). To take it up a notch, I often throw in bath oils or salts. Here is an easy, inexpensive bath salt recipe.
Bath Salts
1 cup epsom salts
1-2 tablespoons baking soda
3 drops of essential oil (I used lavender/peppermint)
food colouring (optional)
1 cup epsom salts |
1-2 tablespoons baking soda |
I added 2 drops of food colouring for a very faint yellow colour. I found that I had to get right in there with my hands to break up the clumps and distribute the colour.
While I was making a batch for myself, I quickly printed out a label, added a bow and made a gift for someone else.
You could really dress this up for a pretty gift for a friend. If you want to use the same label (in various colours), go ahead and download the printable below. Enjoy!

A subject matter near + dear--bath soaks! :) The labels are fab, Terry. Thanks. T.
And for the record? LOVE THIS STUFF. Lavender/peppermint is really a perfect combination! So glad you shared how to make it, Terry, I'm overdue for a refill! ;)
I've never been a bath girl, but this would make a great gift.
I'm so glad to know how to make this! I sometimes take a bath in the morning (on days when I don't want to wash my hair again, after straightening it the day before!) and think I'll try this with peppermint oil, to kind of give it a little zing to wake me up! Love it!
This is excellent! Thanks for the recipe! Great for me and gifts ;o)
This is something I'd like to try, and your labels are pretty! tfs!
This is a great gift idea!
