I would like you all to meet,.....
Isn't she beautiful. I am beyond excited. She was half birthday gift and half saved up for (ooh, bad grammar, sorry) and way more camera than I understand. Hopefully that will change.
As I get into the manual and using different on-line resources, I want to share what I'm learning in case it will help anyone else to take better photos. I will be starting a 'Photo Cheat Sheet' set up as one of the tabs off the home page (at the top, beside 'Decor Crafts',..yeah, up there). Here I will summarize the points I'm (we're?) learning with links to full-length posts, as well as external articles and sites that seem helpful. So feel free to check back frequently as more things get added.
Also, I would be absolutely thrilled to receive any photography tips that I can pass on, so if you think of something, feel free to give me a shout.
For now,...let's just have one more look at her, shall we?
(insert wolf whistle here) Lookin' good.

Oh gosh you did it! Way fun. I sure hope it doesn't send you over the edge though. Looking forward to your tips and tricks. I suppose I should be thinking about investing in one but honestly it scares me to death. You can be the tryer-outer!
Wow! That is a whole lotta camera! You're going to have so much fun learning how to use it. I can't wait to see the shots you come up with~
Yeah, she's totally out of my league. :o)
My husband gave me that exact camera for my birthday in July. I have played with it a lot but I look forward to actually learning about the camera from you. Yippee! So glad I found your blog about a week ago.
Lisa
You are one lucky girl!! I would love that camera but I'm afraid it would be like that Serger I bought, wouldn't know the first thing about using it! I'm so happy for you!
Sweet! Which version is it? I loooove my Nikon!
Congrats on your new addition. She's lovely. Handle her with care, and share, share, share.
Lucky duck!!! How awesome!! I'm excited for the photo tab!!!
I am crazy jealous. Crrrazy jealous.
Congratulations! Really...she's purtee.
How exciting! We've had our DSLR for almost 3 years and I'm still on auto mode. Definitely looking forward to your tips. I really need them:-)
Hey girl, where did you get her? I've been looking at the D3X but want to find it on sale. I know that's likely impossible but would love to find some kind of deal.
Hey Lesley. I'm not sure I got any deal really. I got it at Best Buy and it was on sale for $50 off; it included the lens. Where are you from? I'm sure you U.S. gals can get it cheaper (we get stung on pricing of EVERYTHING up here, lol). I have a girlfriend who lives in St. Louis and we compare wine prices, and here in Canada I pay easily $5 more per bottle for the same stuff. Just as an example, you know, not that wine is foremost in my mind. Just sayin. :)
I'm proud of you! I think you're going to be very happy with it, once you get past the intimidation factor. No pressure, but I sure can't wait to see what you start posting. :)
Oh my ain't she pretty. Congrats!
Congrats on your beautiful bundle of joy! I keep wanting to sing that old Paul Simon song..."I've got a Nikon camera..."
I think it's an amazing idea to have a photography tips section on your blog. We have a Nikon DLSR camera and I don't have a clue how to use it, so I'm looking forward to these posts.
I have this one too. Prepare to fall in love and start carrying a really big purse; it comes with me everywhere!
