Girly Pink Frame

If you can keep a secret, I'll tell you that our neighbour, Sandra, has a birthday at the end of the month.  I wanted to make her a little something for her bedroom.  I decided this on the day I returned home from the dollar store with two corkboard squares.  This is how fate took over.  Okay, okay,..too much drama.  How about - this is how I made her a frame?  Yeah, I guess that works.

I started out with my 12" x 12" square of corkboard and glued on a piece of striped scrapbook paper.  In the middle, I then added a girly pink piece of cardstock that I didn't even cut, just centred it on the page.  I finished off those edges with some pink ribbon and overshot each of the corners to add some interest but you could obviously end them flush and it would look great.

Next I glued (just using a glue stick) the overlay, "Wonderous", in the right corner and embellished it with a paper rose made from a darker pink card stock.  (I know wonderous isn't spelled correctly but I thought the intention was a cute take on the word wonder.  What do you think?)

I used a heart punch to create the pink hearts and then glued them on, alternating right-side-up and upside-down, all along the ribbon.

Lastly, I printed out a picture of Sandra with her best friend, Kitt, and glued that into the centre.  Here is the finished frame, ready to be hung in a sweet little girl's room.  Happy Birthday Sandra.

Here is where I'm linking up:
