Thrift Store Finds

Never.

Never, never, never.  That’s how often I have found anything at a thrift store that I wanted to take home with me.  I have read about all these fabulous finds that my fellow bloggers have captured at their local thrift stores, but I have not been as lucky.

Until now!!  There is a new/old bible mission thrift store in our town that just reopened in a new location.  The old location was small and difficult to find parking, and somebody drove through the front window a few weeks ago.  I never seemed to get to the old location but now that they have moved into a huge spot with awesome parking, I was there.  With bells on.

I started off small with my first purchases:

These are actually glasses but I loved the shape and they were $0.25 a piece.  My kind of pricing.

This candle holder was my big purchase, ringing in at a buck.

I filled the glasses with wine corks and incorporated them into my dining room buffet display.  The plate holder was $5.95 and will be getting something to display but for now is acting as a placeholder.  The birdhouses were just added after a quick ivory spray paint, but they need something so I'm not sure they're staying.  They were $1.50 each.   The rest was all repurposed items from other places in the house.  Total - $10.95 for the entire buffet.

The candle holder I put into a wooden platter (scored from Bouclair’s clearance aisle for $1.67) that was filled with decorative sand from the dollar store and I threw a few shells onto the ends for my beachy bathroom look.  Total -- $3.67.

Whew, it feels so good to be thrifty.  J

Shopping in a thrift store is like being on one giagantic treasure hunt. The becomes a game for me to see what I find and actually need in my home or closet.
Looks like you got good stuff.

I have never found anything in our Goodwill...EVER. I go every now and then when I have time but have yet to score a great find. I'm going to keep trying though! Your blog is really cute and I'm a new follower. Have a great weekend! ~Ann
