In case you occasionally run into the same problem, I dug up some resources that I hope might spark your creativity.
Websites:
These are on a variety of topics within the creativity category. There are examples of art journaling, painting, socks (if you can imagine), jewelry and baking. Obviously, there are thousands of other areas that could be placed under the creativity umbrella, but this will get you started. I hope you find something inspiring.
Journal Girl |
Willowing Love (mixed media) |
Artisan Socks |
Gailavira - Handcrafted Artisanal Jewelry (and Tutorials) |
Hanna's Artisan Baking |
New End Studio |
Podcasts:
Do you listen to podcasts? I like to listen to them when I'm cleaning or ironing especially so that neither of those tasks seem quite as hideous. These were found through itunes. My absolute favourite is Tranquility du Jour but I do enjoy the others as well.
The Spark with Dr. Amanda Morris podcast (website)
The Accidental Creative podcast (website)
Learn Out Loud - Personal Growth
Tranquility du Jour
Ten Ways to Thrive as a Creative Artist
Creative Living with Jamie
Creative Thursday - video podcast
Books:
There are far too many awesome books on creativity to mention even a small number of them so I'll just list below the ones that I have personally read and enjoyed.
Hip Tranquil Chick by Kimberly Wilson |
The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron |
Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott |
Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers |
Obviously, these are just meant to get you started. I would love to hear if you have favourite websites, podcasts or books that help to stoke your creative fires, so please do share in comments.

Terry, I am honored and humbled to be included on this list. If anyone takes away just even a little tidbit, that's a wonderful blogging connection. Thank you! Now, I'm going to look at all those resources you shared...

Your ideas will be miles long and you'll never have enough time to get to them all because there IS no free time! There, problem solved. I won't charge you this time. :o)
Okay, but seriously, the podcasts sound cool. I wonder if they have something similar on Pandora.
Hello, I come from Gloria's blog ;o) Thanks for sharing all the great places to visit and the books to read ;o) I know when I paint, I like to look at everyday, things that happen around me, or a t.v show I am watching. It's weird how something will just pop up in my head. I find a lot of ideas happen when I am dreaming. Take Care and nice to meet you ;o)
