A Little Organization

This drawer was driving me nuts.  I have been known to be completely obsessed with the tiniest details of keeping our home clutter-free, and yet here is this drawer.  And to make it worse, this drawer is entirely mine;  I can't blame anyone else for how bad it looks.

I mean seriously, just check out the blob of stuff in the right corner.  This drawer is in our kitchen so tell me why I would have floss in there.  That's just gross. (I promise I haven't been flossing in the kitchen while stirring something on the stove).  And that curler?  What, in case someone rings the doorbell I can quickly spruce up my coiffe?

There are two hand creams, an empty lipstick holder, 5 highlighters, 26 pens, 2 markers, and some essential oil.  Underneath the flyers there are 8 notepads, business cards, store cards and coupons (like Mark's Work Wearhouse, Cleo, Staples, you name it), bookmarks, two identical calendars, and a manual for the internet router we had 4 years ago.   Yep, this morning something needed to be done.

I shopped our house (I have heard a lot of bloggers use that phrase - love it.) and found an old tackle box that I used to use for my pottery hobby (um yeah, my pottery hobby.  Well, I took a course and at the end I was the only one in the class who couldn't actually make a mug. I was only able to make a 1-inch high pot.  The instructor called it a jam pot so that I wouldn't feel bad about making something that was completely useless.  It houses the SOS pad now.)

Anywho,...I robbed the top insert from the tackle box and found a shallow plastic basket that wasn't doing anything.  I also threw out or moved a bunch of the stuff that was in here and now:

Pure bliss.  I can actually find the cords when I need to juice up my phone or camera.  The pens are contained (I swear they were breeding before) and I can see everything in this drawer.  Perhaps most importantly, I am able to quickly get out the little rubbermaid container with the Tempatations in it.  The cats appreciate this immensely.
