You Found a Wasp Where?

I love this picture from bhg.com.  So simple, clean, fresh.

So I wanted to duplicate it for our house.  Duplicating it was no problem.  Photographing the results, however, proved tricky.

I started out on the counter but realized there was a big ugly electrical plug so I tried to work around it.  This just ended up with the background filled with the stove top and a very strange colour.

What is up with this lighting?  Our kitchen is NOT that colour!  I thought the under counter lighting would help but I was wrong.

I had to move the cutting board to get the above photo.  I expected to see a few crumbs, but instead here is what I found:

A dead wasp?!!  Seriously - how does a dead wasp get under the cutting board?  Okay, clearly time to try a different locale.

This was better - at least the colours were accurate, but shooting in front of the window just drew attention to the yard.  And check out all the bubbles in the water.

This is probably the best of the bunch (even though you can still see the BBQ in the back).  They look nice enough in real life but clearly I need a mantle.  :)

I LOOOOVVVVVVVE that BHG pic!!! It goes right along with my green glass obsession. It's nearly impossible for me to get a good pic of the glass on my mantel too. If I don't use a flash, I get that jaundice hue that you got. I would have squealed if I had come across that wasp. Ick.

I love that picture as well! And you did a great job with yours, too. I don't know that I would've or could've continued taking pics after finding a dead wasp! Good for you!!!
